Q2 gaming full-timers grow, as does their pay

Macau’s full-time gaming workforce increased by 1.6 per cent to 52,518 in the second quarter, despite a 0.9 percent decrease in the number of croupiers.

According to the Statistics and Census Service, the average monthly salary for casino employees in June stood at MOP26,750 (US$3,346), a year-on-year increase of 8.2 per cent.

Dealers’ pay rose by 6.5 per cent to MOP21,660, partly due to an increase in working hours.

Job openings surged 3.4 times, totaling 498.

The latest update from the city’s gaming watchdog shows that gross gaming revenue reached MOP132.35 billion so far this year, a 36.7% increase compared to the previous year.

The figure is about 61 per cent of the government’s full-year forecast for 2024.
