Wynn showcases 30 ultra-luxury hypercars

Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace are currently hosting a meticulously curated collection of 30 rare and ultra-luxury hypercars valued at HK$1.5 billion (US$192 million), aiming to enhance Macau’s offerings and reinforcing its status as an international tourist destination.

Presented by the integrated resort operator Wynn Macau and backed by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the Wynn Signature – 2024 Hypercar Exhibition is being held simultaneously at various locations within the operator’s two resorts from August 1 to October 13.

Open to all without any admission fee, this exhibition features iconic hypercars from 10 of the world’s leading auto brands, including Apollo, Aston Martin, Bugatti, De Tomaso, Ferrari, Gunther Werks, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, McLaren, Pagani, and more. Highlighted vehicles include the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster valued at over US$4 million (MOP32 million) and the Lamborghini Sian Roadster, the world’s first open-top hybrid V12 super sports car with only 19 units produced worldwide.

“Our goal with the Wynn Signature – 2024 Hypercar Exhibition is to further polish Macau’s ‘golden business card’ as an international metropolis, presenting innovative and unique attractions to the city,” Linda Chen, the President, Vice Chairman, and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, expressed.

“Through our collaborative efforts, we aim to bring together elements of sports, tourism, and culture to offer enhanced experiences for visitors, both international and domestic, in Macau,” she continued. “These initiatives can position Macau as a global metropolis, encouraging visitors to stay longer and enhancing their understanding of the Macau community.”

Recent official data indicates that Macau welcomed nearly 16.72 million tourists in the first half of 2024, marking a year-on-year increase of 43.6 percent. International visitors, constituting about 7 percent of the total visitation, reached 1.17 million in the first six months of the year, up by about 150 percent year-on-year.

New travel experiences

During the opening ceremony of the hypercar exhibition on Thursday, Cheng Wai Tong, Deputy Director of MGTO, lauded the event for consolidating the city’s offerings. “With MGTO striving to foster diversification of the ‘tourism +’ offerings, it is pleased to witness the tourism operator’s continuing efforts to innovate,” he said.

“The development of tourism services and products, targeting the needs of visitors of different profiles coming from diverse markets, injects novel elements into Macau’s tourism experience and offers visitors a special and memorable travel experience,” he added.

Notable vehicles in this hypercar exhibition also include the performance-driven Pagani Huayra R, renowned for its uncompromising capabilities, and the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack, featuring a ‘Magic Wing’ for generating substantial downforce.

Additionally, visitors can marvel at the classic Ferrari Enzo Hypercar boasting a powerful V12 engine, the limited edition Aston Martin V12 Speedster commemorating Aston Martin’s 100th anniversary, and the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, the most expensive car in Lamborghini’s history with only 9 units worldwide.

Meanwhile, a pop-up store has also been set up at Wynn Palace for visitors to purchase an array of limited-edition racing-themed products. At Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau, guests can admire replicas of a Formula 1 racing car meticulously crafted from chocolate and fondant by award-winning pastry chefs from the United States. The two resorts will also feature racing-themed delicacies at their restaurants throughout the 2024 Hypercar Exhibition.

To engage the broader public, the “Wynn’s Anniversary Extravaganza: High-Speed Thrills Grand Lucky Draw” will be held. From August 5 to October 13, visitors spending MOP18,000 or more at The Shops at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace will have a weekly opportunity to win shopping vouchers worth up to MOP30,000. In addition, the grand prize includes a race track/paddock experience valued at MOP388,888.

Wynn Signature brand

This isn’t the first occurrence of Wynn hosting a hypercar exhibition, following the success of the Wynn Signature – 2023 Hypercar Exhibition that showcased 16 limited-edition hypercars. The Wynn Signature brand, introduced by Wynn last year, aspires to offer guests “the ultimate blend of premium quality experiences with unique discoveries, a taste of the arts, and exclusive services,” as stated by the operator.

Beyond the luxury vehicle exhibition, an exhibition of 140 exquisite watches valued at MOP157 million took place earlier this year under the banner of “Wynn Signature Luxury of Time,” a collaboration between Wynn and 18 renowned luxury watch brands. Furthermore, the resort operator orchestrated the inaugural Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards in April, recognising top-quality wines from China on a global platform and propelling Macau’s tourism development.

Linda Chen of Wynn emphasised that these events underscore the essence of the Wynn Signature brand. “Our objective is to… incorporate diverse elements into tourism, offering tourists a more varied and enriching experience,” she noted.

“Through these events, visitors can forge deeper connections with Macau, exploring its culinary delights, cultural and creative sectors, the development of SMEs, and more,” she remarked. “They can savour the wonders of Macau and cultivate an enduring desire [to return] to Macau.”
