To raise equity people “make the ask”. If you don’t ask, no one will know about the opportunity to invest in your project. This feels awkward to a lot of women (and men) – like you’re asking for a gift or imposing. That’s backward. People have money in savings accounts, the stock market, real estate and other investments; they are looking for opportunities. You will offer a business proposition that has a potential return from someone they can trust. Be brave – make the ask.
